Attendance & Class Schedules
All classes will be posted on the calendar page. Because a considerable amount of planning and preparation is required for each class, families should notify the teacher as soon as possible if they will be absent. With the variety of supports provided through the hybrid programs for optimized learning, no in-person makeups will be offered for in-person classes. All teacher absences will be made up, or a refund will be issued.
The 2025-26 class schedule follows the Worcester Public Schools calendar, and there are no classes on holidays, WPS school closures and inclement weather days. Both Music Play and Piano Pathway programs are based on a 9-month schedule from the end of September to early June over the course of the school year with the option to add on a reduced Summer Flex plan for light support during June to August.
Instrument & Practice
Piano students
Set up for success beginning with your instrument. To learn how to play the piano, the student needs access to a high-quality instrument. If a regularly tuned acoustic piano is not an option, the next best thing is a full-sized (88-keys) weighted digital keyboard. Using the body to feel the weight of the keys and experiencing an in-tune instrument with a beautiful sound make all the difference for anyone learning the piano.
For beginning students in Keyboard Games A and B, the main goal is for the child to enjoy playing and exploring. Aim to build piano and aural music activities into their daily routine by choosing together an ideal time to play the piano and/or engage in lesson activities for at least a few minutes each day. As students transition to Book 1, formal learning begins and will progress with structured practice.
